    Teak Furniture Care

Clean your teak furniture regularly using a soft-bristle brush and a mild soapy water to remove any dirt. If your furniture shows signs of mold or mildew, you may use a mold and mildew cleaner to remove these stains. Do not use high water pressure, rough brushes/scouring pads, steel wool, or any other rough utensils to clean your teak furniture.

Clean any oil, chemical, or food spills form your teak furniture as quickly as possible to prevent staining. Stains can be removed using a soft cloth or bristle brush. Scrub in the direction of the wood grain. Please note that over-exposure to continuous hot temperates may cause the teak wood to dry and shrink, which may result in cracking. Keep the furniture covered and away from direct sunlight when not in use.

As teak is a natural wood, over time it will weather and the colour will change to a light grey patina. The weathering process does not effect the durability of your furniture in any way. If you prefer to maintain the natural golden colour of the teak, keep your furniture away from direct sunlight or keep it covered when not in use. You may also apply a teak sealant to prevent the natural aging process. If the teak begins to grey, you can hand-sand the furniture with a very fine grit sandpaper, which will remove the outer grey layer to reveal the original golden teak hue.
